Transport Museum, Glasgow

I took a a wee trip on the new Govan ferry to and from the new transport museum and to be totally honest, the very short boat trip was the best part of the visit. Which comes and goes every 20 minutes.

I cannot recommend a visit to the new transport museum on a personal point of view, as I did not like it.

The first thing to hit you is the awful colour scheme. A sort of pale lime green. Made me feel like I wanted to be sick.

Then the darkness of the place. I can't…

Hi Margaret, I was just showing a friend some of your wildlife pictures, she was very impressed and suggested that you should think about making them into cards. I thought it was a great idea!It would sort out the birthday present conumdrums!

Hi Margaret,

The people who run our platform have done techie stuff and actually Improved the site! You can now add a map to you photos.

On the phot page there is a new Options tab, if you click on Edit Details, there is now a Map it button under the location box. I thought you might find it useful.

Regards

Elli

We were at Loch of the Lowes today.  Very wet so Lady was proably sheltering somewhere a little drier than the nest.

I hope you get to visit the Provost House soon it's a lovely old building with so many interesting things in it from days gone by and it still has a feeling of being a home.

Ha, yes I guess there would be lots of children today who have never seen a genuine "gosunder" I can remember at my grandmother's house there was one under every bed as it was a long way down the passage to the toilet on cold winter nights!

Thanks Sandra. Patience is needed but I don't really have it most times :)

Just wander around and hope something pops up where certain birds tend to visit. Or go visit a place where birds are plentiful. Not all are so easy to spot though. You have to go "stalking" :)

I love the Puffins. You can sit quite near them and although wary of you, not really too fussed so long as you sit quietly and don't make sudden moves.

I just noticed you are from New Zealand? I would love to go birding there. Pity it's so far away.

I visited the house (I think) in 1966/67. I guess I was embarassed to say what it was because we had one in the house for our dear old granny.

We actually stayed in a one bedroomed tenement with 13 people living in at one time. 8 siblings, Granny and uncle and two lodgers. Outside toilet in the close. Mum and step father.

I really appreciate my space these days :)

Did you cross the bridge of sighs behind the Cathedral to the cemetry? Another place I need to walk round one of these days.

I am so glad I got to visit Glasgow this time even if it was just for the day. Scottish friends of mine who used to live in Glasgow and now live in Drymen took me on a wonderful tour around the city and important buildings including the Kelvin Grove Museum & Gallery - just amazing! I didn't get to cross the Bridge of Sighs though, hopefully on my next visit. Have you lived there all your life? I'm sure you would have some interesting stories to tell of your childhood there :)
