"We had a weekend over in Fife last month, as usual it rained, always does when we are in the tent."

Camping in Maybole.

Since you have featured my wee letter on camping in Ayrshire, I thought I would let you see our tent, I think it is great. It is the same one we survived the force ten gale in the highlands in. This time we had no wind either natural, or from the male member of our party, it wouldn't have been a force 10 either. Neither of us are in the tent at the time, but the weather was so good at the time that it was worth remembering.See More

Early September

We had a mini heat wave at the beginning of September, so we made the most of it, we tried Ayrshire for a change. Using the Sat-nav to get us to our destination, we found out just how unreliable they can be, after a round about trip through the county we eventually arrived. The camp site was in a walled garden near Maybole. It was a grand site and we had a good couple of days camping there. I originally come from this part of the country so it was a shift back to my childhood. We visited the…See More

What is happening in the East of Scotland.

Hi all, I'm sure someone can fill me in as to what is happening in places like Fife, and particularly The Wemyss, it's an area I have a great fondness for. Maybe because I met my Husband in Dunfermline. I have fond memories of driving all over the area when we were first going out (winching), but the price of petrol was a lot cheaper then, and my hubby wasn't retired. I know this mining area got a grant from Europe a good few years ago and wonder what they did with it. I would have hoped to see…See More

Lochinver and Ullapool

We are just back from a weeks camping in the north of Scotland. What kind of folk go camping in this weather, I hear you say, we do. We went up north for two concerts by Eric Bogle, so we had to stay, this is his final tour here. Well the weather never let us down, it rained and rained, as a spectactular finish it blew a force ten gale. We did have a great time though. The really good thing was we survived and so did the tent.…

I didn't recognise the name Kathleen!!! I don't know anything about embedding, I just upload my videos and photos. I was going to upload music but need permission from the musician so decided against it. I tried adding a widget to this message but all that I got was the code....perhaps pics need imported through PHOTOBUCKET, your guess is as good a mine.

Cheers Vee,
Will try and find a forum which may answer that question. There must be answers somewhere.

Well it has been a long and hard winter, but I think we have broken the back of it now, so we're starting to think about the better? weather and what we might be up to during it. Tomorrow is my birthday, and we were wondering where to go and what to do, but because of my disability somewhere not too far away. I hope where-ever we go, we have the chance of taking some photos, 'cause I've hardly used my camera over the winter.
