Since you have featured my wee letter on camping in Ayrshire, I thought I would let you see our tent, I think it is great. It is the same one we survived the force ten gale in the highlands in. This time we had no wind either natural, or from the male member of our party, it wouldn't have been a force 10 either. Neither of us are in the tent at the time, but the weather was so good at the time that it was worth remembering.

We had a mini heat wave at the beginning of September, so we made the most of it, we tried Ayrshire for a change. Using the Sat-nav to get us to our destination, we found out just how unreliable they can be, after a round about trip through the county we eventually arrived. We are just back from a weeks camping in the north of Scotland. What kind of folk go camping in this weather, I hear you say, we do. We went up north for two concerts by Eric Bogle, so we had to stay, this is his final tour here. Well the weather never let us down, it rained and rained, as a spectactular finish it blew a force ten gale. We did have a great time though.
