That is a heck of a race, amazed there is no bright spark surfer thinking her can surf it as happens on the Severn - the words natural selection used to come to mind every time I saw one!

We have been out there five time with two different skippers.  This was perhaps the most dramatic, with waves approximately 25 feet from trough to peak.  It is considered the most dangerous part of the Scottish Coast when the tide in in full force.  We have been out with David Ainsley of 'Sealife Adventures' twice.  He was on the TV series 'Coast' having been one of the few people to dive on the submerged pinnacle which gives rise to the turbulence. He has a very good boat and is very safety conscious so people need not worry if they wish to take children.  He really runs whale watching trips, and usually comes through the narrows.  Sadly I have never managed any photographs of whales or dolphins.

Love this one. Seen the surf area in the North;-)

This isn't surf as such - it is a vicious and unpredictable surge - the peaks can subside as quickly as they form.

Channonry Point Black Isle is the best place to photograph dolfhins. Avoid the tourist season.

I think you have a good chance "westcoast" somewhere between Glascow and Ullapool this month.
