The group got to know each other and the wild places they visited a little better. They found special places, created poetry and pieces of natural art.

The group discovered and explored a number of wild places right in the heart of the City of Edinburgh including Cammo Estate, the Water of Leith and Redhall Gardens. A visit to Redhall Gardens turned into an ‘organic see, smell and eat’ experience where the group found magical spaces full of strawberries, peas, beans, raspberries and lots of (cultivated) flowers.

I've just got back from an amazing wild place in Scotland, the Island of Tiree (I'll add an image when I can work out how to). One day I explored one of the lochs on a windsurfer. It was brilliant to feel the wind and learn how to use it to help propel us along, and of course it was great fun too!

Where have you been this summer in Scotland?

Our group at Ballikinrain targeted the bird hide area at the curling pond in our school grounds.  We cleared paths, built stairs to access the hide from the rear, opened up the bird hide as well as identify various species plant and animal living in this habitat.
